(( OOC: Why I play ))
Well,
wickedtrue has made a meme. And because I don't do memes in my regular journal, this will have to suffice.
What about your characters makes you want to continue to play them, what brings you joy from them. Not what originally drew you to them, but what makes you keep them through all the purges, dramatic moments, nervous breakdowns, late assignments, finals week, thesis/research projects, etc.Dionysus: I really don't know how to express this one in words. Dionysus is recognized as a diety of theatre, playfulness, drink, sex, and pretty much anything to do with excess to some extent. Yet he also has a (currently unexplored) dark side, a part of him that can come about as a result of the excess. What continues to attract me to him is that he's essentially /human/ in spite of all of his god-like powers. No god is infallable, even moreso 'nysus. Humanity as an idea or concept has always attracted me, and that's what continues to bring me back to Dionysus. Because in the end, he's me, you, and everyone else in some way, shape, or form.
Rand Al'Thor: Rand is insane. Or is he? This major question keeps me playing Rand, as the unknown of what he (or his companion-in-mind, Lews Therin) will do next keeps me on the edge of my seat. Rand is also the character that I tend to flow best with. Dialogue, actions, and thoughts just go straight through to the screen without much effort. I always worry that I don't give Rand enough to make him the character he could be. But at the same time I feel that he's the one character that I completely inhabit. Besides, who says that I'm completely sane either...
The Brownies: Are insanely fun crack. They are the balance to Rand, and I continue to play them because, frankly, they just make me laugh.
